Dining At FairStart

When I worked downtown I made a habit of going to FairStart for lunch or dinner every few months. The food was always good, the service was attentive and it was the right thing to do for the community. I need to go back soon.

FareStart is a culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. Over the past 18 years, this training has provided opportunities for over 3,500 people to transform their lives, while also serving over 4 million meals to disadvantaged men, women, and children.

Thursday evenings is Guest Chef night. Treat yourself to a fabulous three-course meal made by a local chef who donates his/her time to make the meal and train FareStart students. 100% of the proceeds and gratuities from Guest Chef Night go back into the program and fund student services and training.

The FareStart restaurant is located at 7th and Virginia in downtown Seattle. Lunch is served Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Guest Chef night takes place on Thursdays.  For Guest Chef reservations call 206-267-7606. For lunch reservations, call 206-267-7601.
