Palisade Restaurant’s Little Known Secret

When there is nice weather in the Seattle all the dining alfresco /patios outside fill up as if by magic. If you are one of the lucky people who can get off work early you can usually get an table and enjoy the cool outside atmosphere. The wait lists are usually pretty long by the time I get out for dinner but there is a “secret” place with a very wonderful patio that I can almost always walk right onto.

Palisade Restaurant is a very upscale restaurant usually reserved for those special occasions. When you first walk into the restaurant on the waterfront in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle you walk over a salt water pond and then the you see the view which is one of the best in the area. The restaurant sits right above Elliott Bay Marina with 100’s beautiful sailboats and power boats and a view that looks south towards downtown and West Seattle.

This is a pretty expensive place but if you go straight into to bar and keep going until you are all the way at the very end there is a deck with about 10 outdoor tables. Bonus, it’s a covered outdoor patio so even if the sun is baking you will be sitting comfortably in the shade. The appetizers on the bar menu are really something special so you can get many tastes while not braking your pocket book.
