The Quimper Inn-Port Townsend

It was another “Sublime” weekend in Port Townsend. My husband and son sailed our boat “Sublime” from Shilshole Bay Marina to Port Townsend to sail in the 6 meter sailboat races. Our boat does not sleep 4 comfortably so Dennis and I found a Bed and Breakfast for our stay.

We were so wonderfully surprised at our lodging choice. The Quimper Inn Bed and Breakfast is an old mansion built in 1888. Hosts Ron and Sue Ramage have 4 guest rooms that each have their own unique charm. The entire home is furnished with turn of the century décor so you’ll feel a part of days gone by.

During our 2 day stay we met many other guests from Florida, Virginia, California and Seattle when we came down for our elegant and delicious breakfasts. Our hosts sat with us at the gorgeous dining table and entertained us with stories of their travels around the world.

The Quimper Inn sits high on the bluff above old town Port Townsend so the views of the bay, Marrowstone Island and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains are spectacular. The inn is walking distance from the waterfront however it’s a hike up and down steep stairs to get there and back.

Port Townsend a wonderful place to visit for a few days and I’d recommend the Quimper Inn for a peaceful romantic stay.
