Poulsbo on the Kitsap Peninsula
In 1882, just 5 generations ago, the Norwegian town of Poulsbo was founded. Scandinavians came to the Kitsap Peninsula because the idyllic snow-peaked mountains and fjords, abundant fishing and rolling farm lands and felt the landscape was much like their beautiful homeland of Norway.
Today the Norwegian heritage is still an important part of this community. Downtown is located on beautiful Liberty Bay is a wonderful place to stroll and shop. Art Galleries, bakeries that specialize in Scandinavian pastries and restaurants all line this quaint little town’s main street.
To get to Poulsbo you can come by car; or by boat and relax with the full service provided by our well kept marina; or catch a ferry to step back to a quieter time in “Little Norway”.
